Purple Headed Warrior is the first easy climb you will find in the park after crossing the bridge and turning left. It is a short and easy climb that is a close walk from the main trail which makes it attractive for beginner climbers, not to mention it sits close to the ever classic Phone Call From Satan. That is about all this climb has going for it.
Purple Headed Warrior is located on the lowest part of the Western Ship, closest to the River Trail. It is the second climb to the right of Phone Call From Satan and sits on a chunk of rock just to the right of a junky arete of another short bolted climb. The climbing is easy and low angle, the rock is decent, but it leaves a lot to be desired in terms of any type of aesthetic. We ticked it off the list for the sake of it but don't recommend it unless you are looking for an easy beginner climb.

The Sterling Hollow Block is great at biting down on ropes when tying friction knots using a Prusik, Klemheist, or auto block. Its Aramid fiber construction helps resist abrasion and heat. Pony up a few extra bucks to have one hanging from your harness, you’ll end up using it.
