The Western Ship ship is one of the first climbing zones to pass by in the main park area and is home to a few very beginner friendly climbs. Due to the ease of access and the easy climbs present, you are likely to see parties in this area at all times.
Cross the bridge and head immediately left towards the prominent Shiprock. Continue past Shiprock and take the first trail the heads up right towards the rock faces and gullies. The Western Ship is the second protruding chunk of rock once you hike uphill. It gets sun for most of the day
