My Little Pony is really little and not a ton of fun. While a 5.5 route might sound like the perfect beginner lead, it seems like a poor introduction to Smith. The climb can be found just around the right from Wherever I May Roam, and is on a short, low angle slab that is covered in black lichen. It's a short climb and unfortunately the movement and climbing is nothing to write home about.
Start up rock tucked in a corner and easily step up big steps to gain the first bolt. The rest of the climbing involves feeling around for the best hold and stepping up on some lichen-covered slab. A corner up high on the right side of the climb offers some bigger holds on somewhat questionable rock before reaching the anchor. It's not a lot of fun and likely not a great intro to leading.

The Sterling Hollow Block is great at biting down on ropes when tying friction knots using a Prusik, Klemheist, or auto block. Its Aramid fiber construction helps resist abrasion and heat. Pony up a few extra bucks to have one hanging from your harness, you’ll end up using it.
