Chouinard's Crack is a classic crack climb for Smith Rock in that it is dead vertical and smooth sided for easy gear placement. The climbing doesn't actually require you to jam feet and there are only a few mandatory hand/finger jams up the climb as plentiful face holds appear along the way. A great climb that you will wish was longer.
Chouinard's Crack is located on the right hand side of the Red Wall, just as the trail is starting to head up to the top switchbacks of the Misery Ridge Trail, to the left of Moscow. You'll recognize it by the opening right-to-left diagonal crack the leads to a blocky section before the vertical crack.

The Sterling Hollow Block is great at biting down on ropes when tying friction knots using a Prusik, Klemheist, or auto block. Its Aramid fiber construction helps resist abrasion and heat. Pony up a few extra bucks to have one hanging from your harness, you’ll end up using it.
