DIY Climbing Stick Clip

If you’ve ever climbed at Smith Rock then you know that the first bolt is usually pretty far off the deck and can be unnerving, especially if the route is a grade you aren’t 100% comfortable climbing. For those situations, you can either risk a ground fall or play it safe by using a trusty stick clip.

Having a stick clip at Smith is pretty much a necessity and something that other climbers at the park won’t scoff at. This post will show you how easy and cheap it is to build a stick clip to keep you climbing safely and reducing risk.
